Project Overview

Total Waste Management operates an approved Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) at Roku, Central Province. The IWMF also serves as a central administrative hub for all of TWM’s operations.
 
The facility is equipped with a range of specialised waste handling and containment facilities and is also equipped with a range of environmental protection devices, spill response and mitigation technologies. The building is well ventilated both naturally and through engineered controls.

Chemical wastes are stored according to accepted code of practices, guidelines or PNG, AS/NZ standards. The facility is the only one of its kind in PNG.

Scope of Work

TWM Group is PNG’s only multi license holder, including a number of Waigani / Basel Waste Export licenses issued by CEPA and the Australian AWA.  

TWM Group has exported over 1,000,000 litres of intractable wastes over the last 9 years.
 
TWM Group has operated several significant contracts for a blue chip EPC contractors, mining houses, industrials and manufacturers from the Roku IWMF.
TWM Group stocks a range of spill clean-up equipment at the IWMF, as well as providing training in spill response and mitigation. Included is the supply of specialised waste handling and safety equipment.
 
In addition, Dangerous Goods Segregation Requirements are adhered to during storage of chemicals. Personnel are also trained in IATA, IMDG and ADG Regulations.
